first snow in the dax!
heading up basin and dark clouds began to move into the valley. thinking rain and with two peaks to go, the prospect wasn't all that encouraging. instead: snow. and not just wisping flakes. a legitimate event.
(and forget about a hike without spikes in yer shoes for the rest of the season. the refrain became "make ice your friend.")
